CSN Structure
The partner company networks of Volkswagen and Audi are independent environments. The connection runs using the TCP/IP protocol. Currently, the following access types are offered:
- ENX (European Network Exchange), as the communication network of the European Automotive Industry
- ANX (Automotive Network Exchange), in America as ENX-CSP (Certified Service Provider)
- VPN (Virtual Private Network) based on xDSL and MPLS, available only in Germany
- VPN Offnet, for partner companies outside of Germany
- SFV (standard leased line)
- Internet-VPN
Access of a partner company to the partner company networks can be realized only by certified network providers, who have implemented an appropriate secure connection to the infrastructure of the access network at VW and Audi. Connection via network providers is realized using redundant structures. The quality of the service follows defined specifications. Therefore the number of providers is limited.
